Notifications

Dual Notification Flow: Users and Event Creators

On one side, users can define notification criteria based on the characteristics of events they are interested in.

By selecting specific filters (such as category, location, or date), users can choose to receive notifications when a matching event is created. These notifications can be delivered on the platform, via email.
On the other side, event creators can choose to be notified when interest is shown in their event. Creators can configure how they want to receive these notifications—through the platform or via email—whenever a user marks the event as interesting or follows it. This allows creators to monitor engagement and stay informed about audience interest in real time.

How to Set Up a Notification: in Browse Items - "Notify me" button

image.pngOn the "Browse Items" page, by clicking the "Show Filter" button, users can select which notifications they wish to receive using the Filters section and confirm their request by clicking the image.png "Notify me" button in the top-right corner .

After defining the notification details, this feature allows users to create an alert based on the currently active filters.

A popup window displays:

  • The alert name, automatically generated from the selected filters (with the option to edit it).
  • An email notification option, which can be enabled to receive an email whenever a matching item is published.

When a match is found, a red badge will appear over the Notifications bell icon in the main navigation bar.
Modifying Search: To change the criteria of your alert, simply adjust the filters and click Notify me again to update your preferences.
Clearing Filters: Use the Clear All button to reset your search parameters at any time.

The event matching the specified criteria will be displayed at the bottom of the page.

Notification Settings During Event Creation
When you create an event, at the final step you can specify your notification preferences. As shown in the image, you can choose how you want to be notified when someone shows interest in your event. You may opt to receive a notification directly on the platform and/or via email whenever a user marks the event as interesting.

Stay on top of new events
The Notification Hub helps you keep track of important activity as it happens. From this section, you can quickly see updates related to your saved searches, items, or platform activity, ensuring you never miss newly matching content.

Switch between notifications and the alert criteria that power them
Use the tabs to easily navigate between your incoming notifications  (Notifications button) and the alert rules that generate them (Saved alerts) . The Notifications view displays real-time updates when new items match your interests, while the Saved alerts section lets you review, manage, pause, or delete the alert criteria (such as saved searches) that trigger those notifications.
This allows you to fine-tune what you want to be notified about and how you receive those updates.

In NEOLink, a new notification is available

image.png

The user who indicated they wanted to be notified of a specific event received the following email.

image.png

Directly from within the email, it will be possible to view the event on the NEOLink platform by clicking the Open Item button.

Since the user specified that they want to be notified both via email and on the NEOLink platform, the user receives details about the person who has expressed interest in the event through both channels.
The user then receives both an email notification and a notification within the platform.
